One of my checkbook while came to West Sumatera is Maninjau lake. A place must to be visited from all traveller who has come to this province. Then I’m in. 

AGAM. Its a quite district in West Sumatera but from this district, you can see a beautiful Maninjau lake. One of Indonesia’s quite lake with cool temperature. Maninjau is a volcanic lake and the second largest lake in West Sumatra. The lake is located in the district of Tanjung Raya, Agam regency, about 36 km from Bukittinggi. I came here after landing in Padang then a way before Bukit Tinggi. 

With an area of ??100 m², the lake is an incredible natural wonders and a great place to pleasure off and enjoy a quiet life. Come to this ancient lake for your escape from the bustle and hustle of the city. Maninjau has beautiful views perched on hills as high as 461 meters above sea level. hoollaaa. 

The journey before getting to Maninjau lake will be winding with sharp turns. A trip to the lake is definitely going to amaze you with amazing views over the sparkling blue lake and the surrounding hills. It called Kelok 44. There are 44 sharp turn then it must have a good skill while drive your transportation. 

The lake is more than just a beautiful landmark but also the cultural heritage of the local community. Legend Bujang Sembilan is the story of this lake. According to local folklore, the story of one man’s death by jumping into the crater then expanded and formed a crater lake.

By admiring the scenery and serenity, visitting Maninjau lake will make your mind refreshed. If you are looking for a fantastic view of the resort is perched on a hilltop Maninjau offers some of the best views of the lake. The best spot is in Puncak Lawang. You can see outdoor activites like paragliding, paralayang, outbound etc.
